D'Angelo Davis BIO:
Born into a family of singers and musicians, D’Angelo Davis developed a love for music at an early age. He began his musical journey in his family’s local church in Covington, TN, where he became a passionate drummer, keyboardist, and singer. Little did he know that those gospel roots would be the foundation of his soulful sound in the years to come.
D’Angelo began his professional music career as a polished drummer for a local Memphis band called “The Underground.” During this 10 yr tenure, he met Josh Buck aka “J Buck” who pushed him to move beyond the drums and in front of the mic. That push was the beginning of the smooth yet soulful vocalist that Memphis, TN, would soon call “Baby Luther.”
D’Angelo pays homage in many of his performances to the voices that inspired him during his childhood. Luther Vandross, Donny Hathaway, D’Angelo, and Boyz 2 Men are amongst that profound list of artists helped him to understand and polish his God given vocal gift. D’Angelo has performed as a part of an opening act for Sean Kingston, Boyz 2 Men, and Jon B and is currently gracing stages all over the country as a part of the legendary funk band “The Barkays”. From cruise to cruise, this singing phenomenon leaves every sailing audience aboard the “American Cruiseline” feeling relaxed and wanting more from THE D’Angelo Davis.
